Friday !

Popping in for a quick post.
It has been wonderful and sunny all week.
What a treat for the first week of March.

I actually scrapped 2 pages this week,although this isn't one of them...

I made this one last weekend.I've been dying to use that tartan paper !

Monday

New week.
New month.

The Olympics are over and I watched way more of it than I thought I would.
I got totally sucked in to all of it except the cross country stuff,that just seems like torture on 2 legs !
As for the Canada V US hockey game yesterday....I had to walk away on a couple of occasions...nail biting.
14 gold medals...Way to go Canada :)

I fully intended to post Friday but we had crazy windy weather and my power was off and on all day.
So another month over for my 365 photo challenge,some of my favourites in my header.
I am slowly getting back into scrapping again.
The roll of January didn't last into February.
I'm feeling stuck in a rut.
Anyway,these are 2 from last weekend I made using my 365 photo's from January,Ad's...

and Ol's...

Used the same sketch just flipped it,I'm so lazy !

Well it's spring break here and we've a few things planned but hopefully I'll have a new page or two to show on Friday.

Blogging et moi do not seem to be getting along in 2010.
I apologize,since I do believe some people actually do read it !!!!!
No real reason why.
Life's just plodding along.
Every one's fine and dandy.
I was actually surprised to wake up to a few inches of snow today...fancy that,snow in Quebec,in winter,who'd have thought ;)

No scrapbook pages to share but hopefully next week as I have scrapping on the agenda this weekend.

I do have a few cards to share since February is full of birthdays.....

I actually pulled out the ribbon box....it was rather dusty,sitting up on that top shelf.

Which leads me nicely into this,which i think I will try and scrap this weekend...
My photo from Monday,it was a slight cheat being 12 instead of 1 but I don't consider that really cheating !
My 365 photo a day project is still going strong although I am longing for spring for some new inspiration.
I want to try and get a photo each month of my boys,to compare them all at the end of the year...


Ad is my reluctant subject at the moment so I was glad to catch this one when he came home from school this week...although I'm sure he could have pulled that hat down further !

It's Fridaaaaaay !

A quick pop in,while I drink my coffee.
I've an Ikea bookcase to build and frames to be filled with photo's...yes,nearly a year later and I am trying to finish up Ad's room.
I was good too yesterday on my Ikea trip..only bought what was on my list,nothing else slipped in the cart...amazing !

Fairly quiet weekend planned here,a few jobs around the house need seeing to.
Ad's off skiing with friends tonight and won't be home until tomorrow.

I made a couple more layouts this week...

Another one starting off using just the BG sticker sheet...ended up adding some other bits though.No journaling since it will be with my other Halloween pages that say it all really,I just liked the pictures !

It should click bigger.I'm catching up with photo's from the summer.I have actually added journaling to this one,along the bottom,I wasn't going to too but after looking at it on the computer decided I should.

OK well I got a batch of photo's from Costco yesterday so hopefully I'll get some more scrapping done this weekend,got to keep that roll going.

New week,new month.

January was pretty quiet around here.
That's not a bad thing !
February is looking a little busier.

One month down in the photo a day for 2010.
Good days,can't find any inspiration days,nearly forgot days....but I have taken something everyday.
It's hard when you virtually do the same thing day in day out and there's nothing inspiring outside the window,especially since January was so dull but I am going to keep doing it.
Weekends seem to be my hardest days for some reason.
I put some of my favourites from January up in my banner...I think I'll do that every month.

Both boys had friends for over most of the weekend,so they were happily entertained.
So I managed to get some more scrapping done...

This one,I've had the photo's printed since June but never got round to using them until now.Ol with his toothless grin,which is now completely gone.

This was another,the photo's were just sitting there...

I couldn't find the right papers so kept putting it off but the BG Origins was perfect.

Back later in the week with more pages.

And,I have a page,my first one of 2010!
I was feeling very uninspired so I asked my friend Julie to set me a challenge.
It was to use only photo's,a title and one of those Basic Grey sticker sheets.
The result...


Simple but I like it.
I love this Origins line....I pop dotted the bigger sticker,it was too flat just stuck down!
I'm going to remember this for whenever I'm stuck for an idea,talk about quick and easy.
Then I actually made another page.
Then I started a third,maybe just maybe I am on a roll again :)

Hopefully back Monday,with more pages and a bit of a catch up.
I'm off to keep warm...it's freezing :)

Regular blogging!
I just haven't been in the mood to blog.
Nothing worth sharing...just everyday run of the mill stuff.
No scrapping has taken place.
So I'll post the remaining unseen ones from last year.
One I started on NSD last May....

Which looks really washed out for some reason.

Well it's a cold fresh morning out there and I think,perhaps,just maybe the sun may shine today........at last!

Can we...

...just an an itsy bitsy show of sunshine.
I dislike snow.
I dislike freezing temperatures.
The only thing that gets me through winter is the sun and blue skies.
Neither of which I have seen for days.
It makes me grumpy :)

I am so far enjoying taking my photo a day...despite the lack of sun.

The boys finally went back to school yesterday and I've played catch up on errands/groceries/cleaning ever since.
Nothing much happening this weekend and nothing wrong with that at all.
Most likely some skiing for the boys.
We also heard a friend is in town,who we haven't seen since we left the UK,so that should be fun,catching up.

I haven't scrapped.
I have been backing up photo's though.
Whilst doing that I found some layouts from last year I never posted.
So I'll post a couple of those since I have nothing new to share...


Super simple one.
I'd been wanting to get this story down for a long time.
Title says it all really !
That was Ol's reaction when he finally got the frog back in his possession.
It's a long story.
With a happy ending......thank goodness.
We have not lost the frog since !!

Hello 2010 !

The last 2 weeks have just flown by.
It's been nice and relaxing with lots of time for just the 4 of us.
The only busy thing we did was drive to Craig and Nic's Christmas morning to spend a few days.....first time we have spent Christmas with any family members for 4 years.
The weather was kind of weird and not the greatest to get out and about in,which is a shame when there is so much to explore.
Michael and Brad got quads for Christmas,so Ad and Ol had a little go on those.
I even had a go,kind of fun,but Nic has the photo evidence of that.

We did see a couple of porcupines up a tree and plenty of tracks of various other wildlife !
We walked out to the swamp,which was being to freeze over,lots of stuff to take pictures of !!
Since then we've taken it easy.
Boys have seen a few friends,been skating and sledging.
New years eve was just the four of us,sushi dinner and movies.

I'm not one for making resolutions or any of that kind of thing but I am definitely going to make even more use of my time this year.
Spend it wisely.
I feel towards the end of last year I wasted a lot of time.
All in all I am looking forward to 2010.

Anyway it feels good to get all the Christmas stuff down.
That prompted a grand old tidy up and clear out yesterday that has been continuing today.
That has of course left a huge expanse of wall in my dining room that I have to find a cheap solution for !
The boys are still off school until Thursday.....then I can get back to completing my long overdue sofa covers and cushion making in peace.

I haven't scrapped since before Christmas and not sure there will be time this week either but I am dying to get back into it....so many photo's just waiting.
I also need to sort out my albums.
I will post this 8x8 double page,one of 3 I made for Patti's birthday album...

I do intend to try and continue to post a layout every Friday.

I have also decided to do the 365 photo challenge,I'm posting those on flickr.
To keep it interesting for me I'm going to include a few simillar things each week.
I'm sure there will be photo's I love and photo's I hate but it's all about learning and trying to improve.

That's the countdown I get from Ol every morning.
I don't know why every year I am surprised by how fast Christmas actually comes around.
The boys finished school yesterday and very happy they are about that :)
I have everything bought and wrapped and very happy I am about that :)
Oliver still believes in Santa but I have a feeling this may be the last year...his logical brain is ticking away....to be honest I'm surprised he's believed for this long.
Anyway,this is last years Christmas day page,recently finished !!



Our tree hunt wasn't successful this year....

Seems the next few years the tree farm will be low on trees to cut,so that may be the end of that tradition for us.
It was such a dark day.
It started snowing not long after these pictures.
The boys entertained them selves with snowball fights while I said no to a dozen or more tree's.
The someone got bored !!

So they wasted the time making snow angels until the tractor came to take us back.
We ended up driving back here and getting one from our grocery store !!
It's not as big as usual but I'm happy about that...easier to decorate.

My good friend Patti has a special birthday today.
I have pages we made for an album for her but they will have to wait until another post as I need to merge them !!
We went for dinner last night to celebrate.....for once not hampered by a snow storm as so often happens when we plan a get together of any kind.
I can leave you with the card I made for her though...

This weekend.

In a list,because it's been a while....

• Movie night (Ol's pick this week) and home made pizza tonight.
• Time for our annual Christmas tree hunt(hoping it's more successful than last year)
• More baking,pork pies,cookies and more.
• The males of the household are cooking me a late birthday dinner Saturday night.
• Some snow shoveling......deck needs clearing :(
• Some scrapping...need to do my page for last week from my photo a day.
• Catch up on more Six Feet Under episodes,love this show and love HBO for re-running it :)

It's become a bit of a tradition to do these age photo's on his birthday,this year he did it without me asking.Shame it took me until October to get around to scrapping it !!
Although I am only now doing last years Christmas day pictures...as long as they get done,eventually !

Today..

...is my birthday.
Happy Birthday to me :)
Just like last year,look what Mother Nature brought me...

A snow storm.
Not the best piccies but really I took three steps out my front door and one out my bedroom door....it's horrible out there!
Since I've had two,next year I think I can do with out,thank you very much.
This years is a lot worse than last,which has meant the cancellation of lunch with friends.
Better to be safe than sorry and we can do it some other time.

So what to do instead ?
Bake a pan of brownies,make some coffee and scrapbook :)

I finished up that I started on Monday when I cropped with my pal Carine.
We haven't done that in a while and it was fun.

OK,I'm sure there's some snow that needs shoveling......maybe later :)

It will be another quiet one here....love that!
We have a Christmas party to go to but that's it.
Stuart wants to get some baking done.
I need to make some Christmas cards.
Other than that......nothing.

Another layout

I started this one at the weekend but it fell to one side.

A photo a day

Where Oh where has this year gone ?
Anyway,it's the first of the December,whether I like it or not.
So two days ago in a brief email exchange,Patti and I decided we'd do another photo a day challenge....no rules this time.......well maybe the odd weekend one.
I believe Nathalie is joining us too :)

Anyway after a little thought I decided I needed some kind of theme(for want of a better word) for it.
I definitely want it to be Christmas related but also include more shots of us and the everyday things that we do.....I kind of got away from that as these challenges became more about me finding out more about my camera and what it can (and can't) do and generally trying to take better pictures.
But,what about all the times I know I'll be drawn into the garden to take something nature related as I did in April.Every time I do one of these the nature shot nearly always beats whatever else I've taken that day.

The answer.............2 photo's a day !!

The everyday pictures I want to scrapbook as a weekly page.
It's my solution to not getting my act together with the December daily album for the second year running.
I hope to scrap them as soon as I can so they don't sit there waiting for me to do them in 4 months time !
I think Patti's got her own version of a December album in mind for hers.

Anyway,enough waffling,the photo's as always will be on my other blog but I'll post today's here,since this post needs an image.

The droplet it's self is a little out of focus,as I was standing on tip toes and rushing a little as I knew any minute it was going to drip !! I just love it for the bokeh background.

Just wanted to post a few photo's from this morning,I think it's pretty for the first 10 minutes.......


I think I might have made the resolution a little too small or can just blame blogger for the cr*ppy image.
I'm happy to report it seems to be melting.Although I have to admit it did make me feel the need to get rid of the leaves from my header :)

Whoops !

Well I had good intentions of posting last Friday but I'm not sure what happened,the day seemed to whizz by,errands and school meetings...kind of summed up the whole of last week actually.
Anyway,start of a new week and this boy.........


was very exited to finally need his winter coat and see this view this morning..........


Me,not so much.
Yes,yes,it had to come eventually but I'd quite like it to disappear and return in time for Christmas!
I was getting used to the unseasonably mild weather we were having.
