New week,new month.

January was pretty quiet around here.
That's not a bad thing !
February is looking a little busier.

One month down in the photo a day for 2010.
Good days,can't find any inspiration days,nearly forgot days....but I have taken something everyday.
It's hard when you virtually do the same thing day in day out and there's nothing inspiring outside the window,especially since January was so dull but I am going to keep doing it.
Weekends seem to be my hardest days for some reason.
I put some of my favourites from January up in my banner...I think I'll do that every month.

Both boys had friends for over most of the weekend,so they were happily entertained.
So I managed to get some more scrapping done...

This one,I've had the photo's printed since June but never got round to using them until now.Ol with his toothless grin,which is now completely gone.

This was another,the photo's were just sitting there...

I couldn't find the right papers so kept putting it off but the BG Origins was perfect.

Back later in the week with more pages.

A photo a day

Where Oh where has this year gone ?
Anyway,it's the first of the December,whether I like it or not.
So two days ago in a brief email exchange,Patti and I decided we'd do another photo a day challenge....no rules this time.......well maybe the odd weekend one.
I believe Nathalie is joining us too :)

Anyway after a little thought I decided I needed some kind of theme(for want of a better word) for it.
I definitely want it to be Christmas related but also include more shots of us and the everyday things that we do.....I kind of got away from that as these challenges became more about me finding out more about my camera and what it can (and can't) do and generally trying to take better pictures.
But,what about all the times I know I'll be drawn into the garden to take something nature related as I did in April.Every time I do one of these the nature shot nearly always beats whatever else I've taken that day.

The answer.............2 photo's a day !!

The everyday pictures I want to scrapbook as a weekly page.
It's my solution to not getting my act together with the December daily album for the second year running.
I hope to scrap them as soon as I can so they don't sit there waiting for me to do them in 4 months time !
I think Patti's got her own version of a December album in mind for hers.

Anyway,enough waffling,the photo's as always will be on my other blog but I'll post today's here,since this post needs an image.

The everyday.....


As soon as he gets off the bus and comes in the door we have to go and get the mail.
From the garden.....

The droplet it's self is a little out of focus,as I was standing on tip toes and rushing a little as I knew any minute it was going to drip !! I just love it for the bokeh background.

I love Autumn

Or fall,whatever you want to call it!
I love it,I really do,it's my favourite season,no question about that.
Looking out my window,it all looks so pretty,I even like the cooler weather.
Last weekend we cleared a ton of leaves but already my grass is covered again,it's looking like the photo in my header.

Since I like to post a picture and I have nothing scrapbook related again :( I'll post the first 15 days of my photo a day challenge I've been doing with Patti.


We set ourselves a colour challenge since the month of October seemed pretty fitting...Yellow,orange red and green.Lots of leaves from me,7 out of 15 are leaf related !!!!

I don't know where the past week has gone since I last posted.
We got lots done in and around the garden last weekend,which was good.
My Mum flew home last night.
I'm looking forward to this weekend,it should be a fun one.

OK better get off the evil computer and get some stuff done around the house.
Hopefully back to being a better blogger next week,with some scrap stuff to post because I am determined to scrap next week :)

Friday

Here already,again ?
That midweek day off has thrown us again.
My lovely pal Carine and her gang came over for a BBQ for Canada day so that was fun,despite the crappy weather.........we did manage to at least sit out and eat,even if it was in the gazebo.I had fully intended to take a whole bunch of photo's but didn't end up even getting my camera out......Maybe the month of a photo a day has worn me out :)
Speaking of which..........


Not a great montage since I tend to take a lot of off center pictures but here's all 30 pictures from June (It should be 31 since one was a 2 photo challenge but I missed a day and never had the opportunity to do it.) They can all be found here.

I didn't get my time to scrap this week :(
I ended up placing all my pages since January in the correct albums......that was a job in it's self.
So,I made 6 pages in June most of those in the first week,which brings the total this year up to 48 pages.
Since it's Friday and I like to post a layout........


This ones from NSD weekend back in May,I decided it was about time I used that paper.

I'm really hoping the weather picks up for the weekend as we have fun plans.All this rain may be good for the garden but it's not fun when you have visitors.

Oh dear......

....seems my little blog got neglected this week and it doesn't look like being given much attention over the next few weeks either because my Mum is coming to visit.
Arriving next Wednesday for 3 weeks,the boys are so excited,they are on countdown for that and the end of school( although I know some of that excitement is down to what goodies she will bring in her luggage ....all I can say is there better be a huge stock of English choccie because my stash is empty !)
I'm excited too.
We haven't seen her for 8 months,I think she's really going to notice changes with the boys.
So that means scrapping will be on the back burner for the coming weeks although I do hope to maybe get some done on Sunday,just maybe.See if I can make a teeny,tiny dent in the huge pile of photo's that are waiting,patiently.
The break may do me good too because I'm beginning to feel all my layouts are all looking the same !!

Maybe I'll have time to pop in with the odd photo or 2 or 3 and I still have my photo a day challenge to keep up with on the other blog......we're day 12 already !

Anyway since it's Friday that normally means I try and share a layout or two,maybe I'll still be able to do that as well,since I still have a few I haven't shared.

Since mum's coming I may as well show this one,I made back on NSD,part of my scrapping older pictures to build up Adam's album.Pretty simple page and it wasn't until I photographed it I realised it didn't actually have a title.....


...Oh well,the paper strip of smiles will do ! I can't believe how blond Ad is in these photo's.

So far it's looking like we may have a good weather weekend which would be a very good thing indeed because I need to get out and tidy up my garden.Adam has a baseball game Saturday and it would be great to watch in the warmth something we haven't done yet,I may even be able to get pictures !

Friday Stuff !

The end of another week,that's flown by,again.
Not a lot of very interesting stuff just general day to day happenings.

Still enjoying the running and made more progress this week :) I was all intent on going back and running my original 5KM route this morning to see if I was running it any faster but I completely forgot Ad had an appointment downtown this morning.So that idea will have to wait until next week.

Ad has finished all his ministry exams and feels quite confident about them which is good.He is definitely counting down the days left until the end of the school year,he loves school but I know he will be glad when this year is over.
No baseball this week for Ad but Ol got a soccer game in and it wasn't raining......yeah ! Took a ton of photo's but already edited them down and sorted out a layout......I am trying to keep on top of my photos this summer.

The photo a day challenge has been keeping me busy this week........it's fun though.

Good stuff planned for the weekend,hoping to get some relaxing family time and it starts with the schools annual family BBQ tonight,which is always fun.

A couple of new layouts,my first 2 for June.
I ended up making 8 layouts in May (including 3 older pages for Ad's younger years album) which brings my total to 42 for the year.May wasn't a very scrappy month for me.

I had this one sitting on my desk for a while,just couldn't find the right papers.Then the other afternoon I decided I just had to do and I finished it up really quick !


It's very loosely based on this sketch I did last year. ...it strayed as it went along.

This one is something I rarely do and when I do it's normally part of a challenge.It's a scrap lift of Nathalie's page I saw a week or so ago on her blog.I really liked her simple design but I also knew I had a similar picture and this was the nudge I needed to scrap it.


This was another quick page,love it when that happens which isn't too often !

Monday

The weather forecast says no rain after tonight.............I hope so because I've had enough for the time being.
It needs to warm up too.
Yesterday Ad had a baseball game and I kid you not we were sat there with coats, blankets and umbrellas until it just got too unbearable and we moved the cars so we could watch from the warmth..........thankfully it only lasted 1 full inning before the game was cancelled.

Chippies out and about eating all the seeds from the helicopters that have landed on the deck...........
I also caught him eating the petals from my Busy Lizzie's,the photo is after the fact..........he'd eaten the evidence ! So far he's not found the parsley because last year he stripped it bare !

We took a trip Saturday to the Canadian Museum of Civilisation in Hull to see a couple of exhibitions they had going on.This one was the main reason for going and was interesting but I wish it had been bigger,fuller.Also this one,which was interesting,I always love seeing Egyptian relics.We haven't taken a trip to a museum for a while so it was a fun day.

Today being the 1st of June starts another month of a photo a day.
I'm doing this fun challenge with Patti again but also we've roped in Julie too.
Since Patti and I enjoyed our weekend challenges last time we thought we'd have a word/challenge for everyday this month...should be interesting !
So we've picked 10 each.....we don't know them until the night before because a certain someone thought they might be tempted to cheat if they knew them all in advance !!
So I'll be posting them on my other blog.

Ramblings and layouts

Another week coming to an end and it looks like being a rainy one this weekend. I'd planned a few outdoors things to do,Oh well I can hope they are wrong.So whats on the agenda for us this weekend ?

• Registration for the pool......hope it's not the 3 hour disaster it was last year !
• Some yard work
• A walk
• Maybe some scrapping ?
• Good bottle of wine..................it is Mothers day this weekend after all !
• BBQing...the rain never stops us doing that !

I'm sitting here and the 2 chipmunks we have,who live on either side of the garden are having a really vicious scrapping session and not the paper and scissors kind..............it's getting ugly !

OK onto scrap stuff.
In April I created 10 pages including 1 older photo's page so that brings my total this year to 34.

When Patti and I did our photo a day challenge we also agreed to make a layout from it within the following week......Patti made her page last weekend and I'm a day late but it's here now......

I based it along the lines of my October and December pages except I printed the photo's a little bigger than I would have liked and it's purple circle under my yellow chipboard flower.

This one I made last weekend......

The photo's are from last fall,Voyager provincial park just over the border in Ontario.For the last 3 years we've been taking a walk here in the Autumn,we were a bit late this year but it was still pretty.

I'm still limiting my computer time regarding my arm/shoulder,so nothing to show or say really,except I haven't scrapped for nearly 2 weeks so hopefully I will get a page or 2 or 3 done this weekend.....in celebration of National Scrapbooking Day on Saturday (yes really there is such a day !) and it will probably flow into Sunday too............the boys are away for the weekend.

This weeks been a wash out regarding fitness..........I did so well last week,2 days of running and 1 class and this week couldn't do anything.So I will (fingers crossed) get back on it next week and stick to it.Hopefully the path markers will be put up soon and I can run my favourite route because it's amazing what difference they make to the cars whizzing past.

No page today but I'll leave you with all 30 images from my photo a day challenge I did this month with Patti.........better images can be seen on my other blog here. As making them all square cuts off some of the image it should click bigger !


Hopefully we'll do it again in June with some changes :)

Short and Sweet

This one's going to be short and sweet because I'm supposed to be resting my arm (I've aggravated an old problem and typing/computer stuff makes it worse)but I can't not have a post on a Friday.

This week has flown by,in fact April seems to be flying by.

So a layout......
I made this one straight after making the one I showed of Ad last week.It's pretty much a straightforward lift,I couldn't resist.......I love making Fall pages,sorry it's so small but the title reads,natures best toy...hours and hours of fall fun.

I don't have another layout,I do but I'm behind on photographing them. I do have the first 16 images from my photo a day challenge I've been doing with Patti.It's been fun and can't believe it's nearly over ........

This should go bigger.I had a nature/garden theme this month and now things are beginning to grow it's becoming a little easier and hard somedays to pick one !

Busy weekend ahead as it's my baby's birthday on Saturday......he'll be 7,I can't believe it and he's super excited we've had a count down going on all month.

Weekend report !

The weekend......well Saturday was a wash out,it rained all day.The only good thing about that,it took away a lot more snow.We still have a few big patches but it's going,slowly.
Sunday,it didn't rain but it was cold,I went outside for about 20 minutes to take photo's and that was it for me !
The boys spent most of Saturday building Lego stuff,Ad's working on making a mini movie using the small digi camera,taking still shots and then running them together....it's a work in process.He got to have a sleepover at a friends Saturday and then Sunday Ol had a friend to play with all day.

So between the bad weather and the boys being occupied with friends and Lego I had lots of time to scrap........I'm on a roll again,probably because I know very soon my time is going to be spent outside in the garden.Anyway I managed 3 pages,with 2 planned out and some organization too.
When we did the kitchen reno I moved the CD player into my scrap space but I hadn't used it since Stuart bought me these for Christmas,cute dinky speakers for my ipod.So I moved it into Ad's room,much to Oliver's dismay(I think I may have to look for something cheap for his room for his upcoming birthday...since my 6 year old is more like a teenager than my 12 year old !)So all this meant I had space on my shelf........and so I had a brainwave.When buying stuff for Ad's room I bought one of these that fit into these boxes........well turns out larger rub-ons and borders fit very nicely in here too,in fact much better than Lego pieces ! This freed up some much needed space in the basket I had all this stored in along with my thickers.

Decided my Photo a day for April is going to have a nature/garden theme because that's all I've taken so far,so might as well roll with it ! It could very nearly be call a photo of chippie a day because I just can't stop myself........


Not much else,I've got the dreaded taxes to start filling out today since it's that time of the year,fun stuff like that. The boys are only at school for 3 days this week,so better get anything I need to be done before Thursday.

I'll be back later with my layout for this weeks challenge at the AC blog . I didn't think I'd be able to participate this week as I didn't think I owned any of theSpring/Summer range but I found one piece !

April Fools Day

April the 1st,that soon came around.I did think about making up some ludicrous story and then coming back later with a "tricked you" but I couldn't think of anything worth while !

I need a new photo for my header but it's still very snowy out my window right now :(

I nearly forgot too,that I said I would do another photo a day when April came around.I think I have my shot for today already,I'll post them all on my other blog though.
